The main tasks of the Center for Psychiatric Care and Professional Psychophysiological Selection are:

Providing psychiatric, narcological, psychological assistance, conducting mandatory preliminary and periodic psychiatric and preventive narcological examinations, including for the purpose of military medical examination, to persons entitled to medical care;
conducting psychiatric examination, psychodiagnostic examination, medical psychophysiological professional selection of candidates for police service and training in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, transferred, dismissed from the police, NMU servicemen and other persons undergoing medical examination in the military medical commission;
Ensuring control over the observance of the law and protection of the rights of persons during the provision of psychiatric, narcological, psychological assistance, medical professional psychophysiological selection;
Study of the state of mental health of persons entitled to medical care and take measures to improve it;
Interaction of the Center with interested services, bodies, institutions, organizations, legal entities inside and outside the department.

The Center for Psychiatric Care and Professional Psychophysiological Selection performs the following functions:

Carrying out psychoprophylactic work among persons who have the right to medical care, promotion of a healthy lifestyle;
conducting medical selection according to the state of mental health and professional selection according to individual psychophysiological features of candidates for police service and training in educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, NMU in accordance with administrative documents;
organization and carrying out of obligatory preliminary and periodic psychiatric and preventive narcological examinations of policemen, servicemen of NMU according to administrative documents;
providing outpatient psychiatric and drug treatment to persons entitled to medical care, examination of their mental health, diagnosis of mental and behavioral disorders, treatment and supervision in an outpatient setting for persons suffering from mental and behavioral disorders;
provision of counseling psychiatric care, if necessary - appointment and treatment of persons suffering from mental and behavioral disorders, and are being examined and treated in the State Institution "TMO";
organization and carrying out, in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, consultative and dispensary registration of persons entitled to medical care;
conducting, in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, medical examination of temporary disability of persons undergoing outpatient treatment for mental and behavioral disorders, and organizing the work of the psychiatric medical advisory commission of the Center (LCC);
preparation and referral to medical and social expert commissions of medical documents for patients with mental and behavioral disorders for the purpose of examination of long-term or permanent disability;
psychological and psychiatric support for police officers, NMU servicemen during operational and service tasks in emergencies of man-made and natural nature, as well as during the protection of public order in mass riots and mass events in accordance with the requirements of regulations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine;
introduction into practice of work of the Center of the newest technologies, achievements of a science, technics and advanced experience;
organization of advanced training of the Center's specialists;
holding meetings, seminars, scientific and practical conferences on issues within the competence of the center, meetings of the Medical Council of the Center, etc.
